Welcome to the travel blog of Rotary District 5580's Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team which will embark on an exciting five week goodwill / vocational exchange to Nagoya, Japan in November, 2009.
Here, our hybrid American-Canadian team of enthusiastic and adventurous young professionals, along with our lovely, talented and fearless team leader, will share cultural experiences and engage in unique vocational learning opportunities.

この度の交換留学という機会に恵まれましたこと、先より御礼を申し上げます。

Setogama Gallery (By Evonne)
After our noon presentation to Seto Rotary Club, the team took a short car ride to the Setogama Gallery, owned by Seto Rotarian Reikichi Kato. Mr. Kato is a renowned ceramics artist who has received several awards and has had his works exhibited at many galleries, including Paris. After viewing his private gallery, Mr. Kato turned several pieces on his wheel for us to watch and then he allowed us to make our own creations. Some found it easier than others. It took Julie three attempts with a lot of help from an apprentice to finally produce a rather lopsided bowl. But proud she was with her creation.
